Nowadays dating is a whole new, digital world and it is changing day by the day. It’s safe to say that if you’re under thirty and single, you probably either use, or have used a dating app such as Tinder, Bumble, or Plenty of Fish. There are a handful of other apps and websites out there, but these three are the most popular and often thought of as the easiest to use. I like to call them “Speed Dating Apps (SDAs)”; they are what dating has become in this decade. These SDAs are essentially a collection of pictures and a short bio about the person that makes up that person’s dating profile. Single moms may often find themselves debating whether they should include pictures of their kids in their profile or disclose the fact that they are a parent at all. The answer, from a single guy’s perspective, is a definitive YES.
Moms who are on the market are often under the impression that single guys would not even consider dating them if they knew about their kids. This is certainly not the case. If you are looking for something real with someone, you have to be upfront about your kids. So post the pictures of you and your kids on dating sites. The person you end up with has to find out eventually, so it’s better to be straightforward from the beginning than to hold off and try to tell him about it later. Even if you are just looking for a fling, being upfront at the beginning could prevent pain down the line. Also, if you post the pictures on your dating profiles, you won’t be wasting your time with the select few guys who really just feel they aren’t ready yet.
While the fact remains that some people just don’t like kids, if you really think about it, it is true for both sexes. There are surely men and women who say they “hate kids” but how many people like that do you know personally? Not many. Most people love kids. They are fun little people and almost always fun to hang out with. Many single guys may even be curious about what fatherhood would be like, or even be looking for a woman with kids. You never know what the guy is looking for, but regardless, it is always better to be upfront about your kids. Remember that, at the end of the day, what really matters is that you take care of your child; that he or she looks good, is healthy and well behaved.
