It’s the middle of winter and your kids are probably getting antsy and bored. While this period can be frustrating as a single parent, it is actually a great time to bond with your child through fun winter activities. Whether you are in a snowy area or dealing with rain, there are things you can do with your child to make the most of the weather. If you’re having a hard time coming up with anything, try these winter activities:
 
  1. Build a fort
  2. Play board games
  3. Bake
  4. Have a show
  5. Craft
  6. Read together
  7. Have a movie day/night
  8. Make a cardboard cabin
  9. Have an indoor picnic
  10. Draw or color
  11. Go ice skating
  12. Visit your public library for books and free activities
  13. Visit free days at museums
  14. Build snowmen out of snow or playdough
  15. Put together a puzzle
  16. Have an indoor scavenger hunt
  17. Have a snowball fight
  18. Volunteer at an animal or homeless shelter
  19. Make fake snow with 3 cups of baking soda and a ½ cup of hair conditioner
  20. Have a dance party
 
As you can see, it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to entertain children the winter season. There are quite a few possibilities, which means less stress for you!
