On Good Friday, Single Parents Alliance of America (SPAOA) donated meals to 50 families living at The Lighthouse for Women and Children, helping some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

The Lighthouse is an extension of the Ventura County Rescue mission, serving homeless women and children in Southern California. Since 1998, they have given shelter, substance abuse treatment, transportation, and other services to help these women and children transition to a more permanent, stable environment.

The residents of The Lighthouse appreciated the gesture. “Thank you so much for our dinner on Good Friday. We hope to continue partnering with you. Your service has not gone unnoticed and we thank you so much.”

This is the latest of SPAOA’s outreach efforts, providing tangible help to real people in our communities.

With over four million members, SPAOA is a leading source of information for single parents, connecting members with programs that might help with housing, financial assistance, childcare, and more. Single parents are also given a welcoming digital space to share their stories with members in similar circumstances.
